In 1810 the The All-Saints Church in Taganrog on the cemetery's land was founded, which was consecrated and completed in 1824. After Taganrog had been captured by the Red Army in late 1919, the cemetery was used for all interments. After the Second World War, several monuments and a traditional Soviet eternal flame were established on the cemetery territory. On May 25, 1971 the cemetery was closed for new interments.
